WEST BROMWICH ALBION WIN F.A. CUP FINAL
AFTER A LAPSE OF FORTY YEARS.
BIRMINGHAM BEATEN IN A THRILLING GAME BY THE ALBION LEADER'S SKILL.
LEAGUE MATTERS SETTLED..
A game packed with Cup Plasi sensations was provided at Wembley on Saturday when Wert Bromwich Albion's youthful 'ployers brought the trophy home for the third time after a lapse of 40 years. They took the lead in the first half through Richard- son, and Birmingham equalised with a wondorful hook into the net by Bradford, who, contrary to earlier indications, turned out in the centre-forward position. Richardson's resources, however, saved the day for West Bromwich, as this player was also responsible for the second and winning goal.
The majority of the League teams played their final games of the season. Leeds and Manchester United havo suffered relegation to the Second Division. It is still doubtful whether Tottenham, who are now leading by ono pdint, or West Bromwich Albion, the Cup winners, will accompany Everton to the First Division, Lincoln City's hopes of gaining promotion to the Second Division were destroyed at the last moment owing to their defeat and the success of their rivals, Chesterfield.
Results and corrected League tables are appended.

British Bahamas.
This gateway of the New World has to-day a happy British popula- tion of less than 65,000, of which about 15,000 are whites. The most important of the group, containing Nassau, the capital named in honour of King William III., as Providence Island,, less than twenty miles long; it has no railways. Providence Island is well equipped to become a leading winter resort of the North American Continent. Mean temperature in the hottest months is 88deg., and the coldest 00deg.
The land is very fertile, and all sorts of fruits and flowers grow profusely. The fishing is amongst the best in the world. Tobacco and cotton are indigenous. There are many varieties of birds, and the turtles caught in the Bahamas are particular fine.
The Colony is under a British Governor, and there is a Legislative Assembly elected by popular vote, Excellent bathing is obtained all the year round, and plenty of sport. Living is cheap and delightful.

thought that green pigeon should bo protected by a regulation pro- viding an open season six weeks after the beginning of the fighting season, and that snipe should have a fixed opon season to begin in the middle of September. This would give the snipe time to rest after their migratory flight.
He considered that Malaya's familiar birds should be protected, that netting of wild birde should bu stopped, and that if enging of birds was to be allowed at all that much larger cages than those nor- maily used should be insisted on Artificial Lights,
Mr. Jorgenson did not consider that the removal of protection from elephant and sambhur in tho F.M.S. was justified; he was absolu-
tely against the use of artificial lights to enable persons to hunt at night and considered that so nightshooting, savo in the case of sitting up for carnivora, should be prohibited except ander permit
He considered that the sale of trophies should be prohibited, and although he thought that the salo of meat of game animals and gamà birds would be difficult to control, it should be attempted.
He deprecated the destruction of monitor lizarde for trade purposes, and was strongly in favour of licences to control the selling of wild animada or birds.
1
He added that animals kept.is such shops or in private zoos also needed supervision so
that they
were not cooped up in unsuitable quarters.
He considered that it would bo deplorable thing if the wild life of the Malay, Peninsula, especially jo its larger forms, was extermin- ated, but he believed that reason- able regulations should be able to prevent it.
Mr. Jorgensen thought that the game department should organiso a branch for elephant control.
Fish........
He was in favour of regulations
to control the catching and taking of fish in Malayan rivers and staf-
ed that he balioved all planters would be grateful if the practicə of damming and baling of water, course was mido; to crase.'
He agreed that people should'. consider the wild life of Malaya- as a trust to be looked, upon as a heritago for those who come after them, and believed that the boat: way to do that was by compreheb sive regulations to cover the whole country administered by one chief so as to secure uniformity of con- trol
Mr. Jorgenson completed his evidence by saying: "I allow no bird netting round my house and in consequence my garden is amar- ingly rich in birds. I think Sani- tary Board areas might be mado into bird sanctuaries,
I would also like to fea number of honorary deputy gams wardons appointed who would 28- sist in coing that the provisions of the law are properly observed:?"
