SHOOTING TRAGEDY IN

JOHORE. SULTAN'S NEPHEW FOUND DEAD WITH HIS WIFE.

Johore. Bharu was the scene of a shooting tragedy on March 25, îng volving the death of a member of the Royal family and his wife.

It appears that shortly after 1.20 pm, the bodies of Ungku Mohamed bin Ahmad and his wife, were found in the house where they lived with Mohamed's mother, the Ungku Tungku Besar) (second sister of H.H. the Sultan of Johore). They had been shot and a revolver and n service rifle, both of which had been fired, wore found close by. It is presumed that Ungku Mohamed Bot his wife and then. himself

Ungku Mohamed was 23 years of age and his wife was a year younger. He was engaged in the office of the Dato Mentri Besar and was a Bocond Lieutenant in the His Volunteer Foreca. Johore father was Ungku Chik Ahmad.

The funeral took place the same evening.

It is thought that jealousy was the cause of the tragedy.
