ARSENAL AND SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY BEATEN JN ENGLISH CUP MATCHES.
CHELSEA ACCOUNT FOR THE CUP HOLDERS: LEAGUE CHAMPIONS LOSE TO BARNSLEY.
SCOTTISH LEAGUE LEADERS DRAW.
Arsonal and Sheffield Wednesday disappointed their supporters on Saturday when they had to admit defeat in the Fourth Round, of the FA Cup matches by an odd goal in each case. The Cup- holders lost to Chelsen at Stamford Bridge, while Barnsley, who occupy a low position in the Second Division of the League, no- counted for Wednesday,
!
Leeds United, Blackburn, Sheffield United and Everton won comfortably, while an odd goal decided the fate of Bury, Black- pool and Brentford. Two matches were drawn-Bolton and Sun- derland from the First Division, and Bradford City, and Wolves from the Second.
?
Aston Villa were forced to share the points with Liverpool in A League game. A feature of the Scottish League matches was that Celtic and the Rangers, who are running neck-to-neck, both had to give away a point to their opponents.
Full results and corrected League tables are appended.
