Tin, though active, has been woak again. The market opened firmer, following some fairly active sup- port, but the improvement was short- lived and prices, consistently de.. 81,090 clining throughout the neck, close £14.12.0 lower as compared with our Inst report. Sales in the East during the week amounted to 1,150 tons; shipments, thence up to the 6th instant wero 1,402 tons, and $1,100) for the month are estimated at about 8,000 tons. Premiums on Straits and Banka Tin are quoteil at £2.12.6 and £4 per ton respec tively. Confidence has been badly shaken by the indifferent advices emanating from all industrial cen tres, accentuated by the conflicting reports and rumours in connection with production in the F.M.S., where it seems difiult to determine to what extent, the policy of re tsstriction is being effectively car- ried out, or how much of this has been definitely abandoned.
