The Majestic Theatro, Nathan Road, Kowloon, inaugurates to-day a now era for Kowloon picture fans by showing the all-talking, singing and dancing picture, Broadway Babios." This is the first talking picture to be shown on the Penin- aula, and the management of the Majestic are to be congratulated on their enterprise. ·

For some time past, the new machinery has leon in the process

of being installed, with the result. to-day that the Majestic is in position to offer patrons as good entertainment as any given by talkie theatres on the jeland, the machinery being exactly the saine as that in the Hong Kong houses.

One of our representatives had the privilege and pleasure of being prosent at a preview of "Broad way Babies. yesterday. Besides the screening of the picture which WIS thoroughly enjoyablo, the Majestic seems o be admirably adapted for, tha takies, every note and word was clearly heard, and the synchronisation of tone and picture was perfeet.

Much could be written about the film, which is crammed with bright songs and anoppy danoes. Piquante Alice White as a Broadway choring holds the stage most of the time but is ably assisted, by many, other artistes. There is plenty of love interest and lots of thrills. The Majestic Theatre's motto seems to

DELIGHTS CROWD.

"Paramount on Parade," opened its first run at the Central Theatre Inst night. It is easily one of the cleverest, amartest motion pictures ever made. Some of it, is in technicolour.

Every important player in the Paramount Company is in the pic ture, and everyone of them does something big, grand, delightfully entertaining. There is nous of the business of drugging in names just to swell the cast. Each number of this cost entertains,

A spirit of charming intimney pervades the picture. The per formers meet the audience more than half way and lead it into the joyful frolic of fun and gnisty. It is jovial like nothing so much as Hollywood Party, with the greatest entertainers in the world on hand to provide the amusement and act as even-thoughtful hosts.

The picture must be seen to bo appreciated. Buddy Rogers, for in- stance, and Lillinn Roth, and George Bancroft, and Ciara Bow and Nancy Carroli are all in it.

"SUNNY SIDE-UP."

"Sunny Side Up” doen really keep one's sunny side up for throughout the film there is not one dull moment.

The story opens with Yorkville- New York City's upper East Side -humming with excitement for it is July 4 and everybody is making; merry.
