The report of the Philharmonic Sinciety, which has just been circu- lated, reads:

The mombership of the Society number, 30 Vice-Presidents, four Bubscribing Members, and 07 Or dinary Mombers, including those on leave.

The Committes have pleasure in announcing that His Excellency the Governor, Sir William Poel, K.B.E., C.M.G., has consented to become Patron of the Society in succession to Bir' Cecil Clemonti, K.C.M.G.

Sidney Jones' Musical Comedy The Goisha" was produced in December. Mrs. F. G. Hunt actod as Hon. Producer, to whom the thanks of the Society are due. -Professor Brown, who was elect- ed to the post of President of the Society at the last gonoral meet- ing, resigned on proceeding en leave an May. His Honour Sir J. H. Kemp, Et, K.C., C.B.E., 20- cepted office but had to resign on proceeding on leave in August.

Mesdames A. M. Bowes-Smith and L. C. F... Bellamy resigned from the Committee on going on leave. As the Committee was up

to full strength owing to co-options it was decided not to fill their places.

The duties of Hon. Secretary and Hon. Treasurer, have, heon carried out during the season by Messrs, H. J. Best and F. 8. WE Smith, respectively, to whom tho thanks of the Society are grate.
