LONDON, Sept. 12. The inquest on Major Aubrey Faulkner, the famous South African cricketer, who was found dead in his office at his School for Cricket, Fulham, London, on September 9, was held to-day.
A verdict was returned that suffocation by death was due to gas-poisoning, deceased having com- mitted suicide whilst of unsound
mind.
Mrs. Faulkner, in, her evidence, stated her husband had undergone two operations last year, which left him very depressed. He had threatened to commit suicide by gas-poisoning. She did not think he had been in financial difficulties.
