Purchase of the Land... Dealing with the early history of the land in question, Mr Sheldon said that on June 2, 1922, an agreement was entered into between plaintiff and Lau Yu Fong and Mesera. Jardine, Matheson & Co., Ltd., agents for the owners, for the sale of the land to plantiff and Lau Yu Fong. The price to be paid was 34 per square foot and the sum of 830,000 was paid as a deposit, the total purchase price working out at $368,276.
