Reserve Funds,

The conservation of reserve funds has been the determined policy of the board, and the wisdom of this course will be evident in the benefits which it is firmly believed will accrue. At the same time, I should like to point out that a vigorous policy of development of the mine has been pursued. As a result of the capital expenditure which has been disbursed in that respect, and in improving and supplementing the plant and machinery, the pro- spects for continged profitable work- "ing of the mine are brighter now than for many years past. It might perhaps be thought by some share holders that farger tonnage output should be attempted. Careful con- aideration of this subject had con- vinced the board that the time' was not yet opportune, but acceleration would be hastened as BOON 219 developinent revealed the definite of large quantities of presence payable ore to justify the greater expenses which would be involved.

The accounts for the year re- vealed that the revenue from Gold had been supplemented by satis. factory earnings from invested funds, and from the sale of elec. tricity generated at the Company's Power Station.
