Many banking circles are passi- mistic regarding its effects, but others think that the present selling factors include the declines in cam- modity prices and the approach of the summer season.

Reflection in London.

LONDON, June 17.

HUNGARIAN PREMIER VISITS LONDON.

GUEST OF BRITISH GOVERNMENT.

(REITISH WIRELESS SERFICE)

LONDON, June 16 Count Bethlen, Hungarian Pre- mier, who, with Countess Bethlen,. is visiting London as the guest of the British Government, called upon Mr. Arthur Henderson, For eign Secretary, at the Foreign Of fice this morning.

The Prime Minister's allusion in the course of his speech at the Guildhall, to "a certain event in New York yesterday which is bound to have repercussions here sooner or later," has aroused great interest in political and business.derson being among the guests

circles.

Rumours of financial difficulties in the City which have been cur- rent since the week-end were given additional weight to-day hy the fresh dealine of Stock Exchange prices. Montreals were influenced by the hectic bear market in New York, and Canadian stocks and local exchanges over a broad list have made many new lows for the year.
