SIMLA, June 4.. To a deputation of 30 leading 91% Punjab Muslim landowners the Viceroy of India replied welcom- ing their assurances of continued loyalty.

Alluding to the deputation's de- mand for a large degree of pro- vincial autonomy, the Viceroy gave an assurance that the just claims of Muslims in the Punjab and important minority communities throughout the country would not paas unrecognised, notwithstanding. the civil disobedience movement.

The Viceroy said he still earnestly desired to promote generous con stitutional advance, and if the Indians, like yourselves, who are prepared to co-operate with the Government to this end, can-per suade your fellow countrymen "of whatever creed to join you, your efforts will be a true service to your country.
