Manufacturers of aerated water report a very brisk business. There are over ten factories in the city. Large quantities have been recently exported to the country districts.
Makers of sun helmets nad straw hats are doing exceedingly well this year, their goods hing in healthy demand. Due to local rivalry, they have reduced their prices by on- fourth.
The price of sait has soared up considerably in the North River districts. The current quotation for a bag of 200 cuttica of salt is 813. as compared with $12, the usual price.
Match manufacturers report that their business has not improved due to the abundant sapplies of foreign matches. It is estimated that over 8400,000 worth of foreign,"especially Swedish, matches is imported into. the city annually.
