WOMAN'S CLAIM IN THE SUMMARY COURT.
STORY OF AN ABSCONDING HOUSE TENANT.
Allegations that n tenant had absconded without paying his rent were made at the Summary Court yesterday before the Püisne Judge (Mr. Justice Wood) by Chan Ho, a widow, who had a claim for $130, being three months' rent, including one month in lieu of natice, for the ground floor of 31, Elgin Street. The defendant was Cheung Chak, who was identified as the man whe summons, but he disclaimed this appeared in answer to the writ of
name.
It was disclosed, in the course of evidence, that when the plaintiff bought the house ten years ago, the
defendant's father was the tenant.
