ST. STEPHEN'S COLLEGE SPEECH DAY.

SUCCESS OF THE MOVE TO STANLEY BAY.

HOW THE MALARIA DANGER WAS COUNTERED.

BISHOP OF VICTORIA'S CONGRATULA-

TIONS:

St. Stephen's College held yesterday, its first speech day and prize giving in the new buildings out at Stanley. The optimism of those who hoped to found, "An English public school in Hong Kong," has so far been fully justified in this experiment of a big college out in the country. **

The numbers did not suffer from the move from the Pokfulam site, and the health of the pupils has been even better than be fore."

The Bishop of Victoria (the Right Rev. C. R. Duppuy; D.D.) paid a notable tribute to "those who have made the move possible," and the Wardon (the Rev. E. W. L. Martin) in the course of a very interesting report, told the story of how the "great trek” was done. Precautions against malaria bad eliminat- ed that disease, and from every point of view the move waA L success. In conclusion the Warden extended, to everyone interest- ed a warm invitation to the official opening ceremony by H.E the ...Officer Administering the Government, on March 5, at 3 p.m. THE BISHOP'S CONGRATU
