OLDHAM ATHLETIC LOSE THE LEADERSHIP.
THIRD DIVISION LEADERS-PLAY DRAWN GAMES,
IRELAND LOSE AT BELFAST.
Saturday's matches in the Home football programme resulted in victories for the four teams at the top of the First Division and they retain the same order as the previous, week. Leeds Cmited, the lenders, defeated Birmingham by the only goal scored. Sheffield Wednesday beat Huddersfield 3-1, the Arsenal had a 4-1 victory over Grimsby, and Manchester City bent West Ham United by the old goal in seven. Burnley had the best record of fire clear goals in meeting Sheffield United, and St. Mirren followed their example in the Scottish League.
Oldhain Athletic lost one point which cost them the Second Division leadership.. The Wolves rose to the top followed by Black- pool, the latter scoring six geals in a total of ten against Preston North End
Leaders in both the Southern and Northern Scotiers were forced to a draw, but they are still well ahead of the rest. Northampton moved from fourth to second place by taking one point from the lenders. Darlington displaced Stockpärt for accond place behind Port Vale, who shared the points with Rotherham.
Aberdeen are still the leaders in the Scottish League, although they were played to a draw by the Hearts The Rangers defeated Partick by the only goal resulting from their visit.

In what must have been one of the tamest games seen on the Navy Field, the Kinaras beat the Base- ball Club by 9 runs to 6. yesterday. The Baseball Club wero again short of players and as the Kiaoras were also one man short. Managers Hong Sling and Le Fevre came to an agreement whereby four sub- atitutes made up the Ball Club nine and another completed the Kiaora side.

The entries for the Harbour Race received at the V.R.Ü. yesterday evening show, a. total of 15 men for the Open Race and 19 entrants for the Ladies Race. The latter race will take place on Tuesday, Octo- ber 29 (to-morrow), and the Men's Race the next day."
The Committee of the V.R.C. wish to point out that a launch fot. competitors will leave the V.R.C. ut & p.m. for the starting point st Kowloon on both days. The V.R.C. have also made arrangementà for boats to follow the competitors and. incidentally, pick up any competi tors who drop out and bring them back to the V.R.C.

A notable absentee is Mr. J. C. Cooke, the veteran swimmer who has won the event three years in succession and also in 1006. Mr. Cooke has also been missed in the Championship events this year, but it cannot be said that he has de- finitely retired from the Sport.
