Mr. J. K. Munshi, M. L. "A. Barrister-at-Law, has given notice of the following resolution which the intends to move at the next Session of the Legislative Assembly to be held at Simila:-
"This Assembly recommends to the Governor-General in Council.
(a) either to abolish the Export Duty on Rice from Burma or
(b) in the alternative to ap- paint a Committce to enquire in- to the Export Duty on Rice from Burma and to ascertain and re- port how such 'Duty affects Bur- ma's prosperity in general and the Rice and Paddy trade of Burma in particular."
Mr. Munshi has written to the Burma Chamber of Commerce, the Burma Indian Chamber of Com merce, the Burmese Chamber of Commerce and the Chinese. NEW YORK, Sept. 17. Shanghai taels and Hong Kong dollars late yesterday reached i new low level here for the past si- 89.63 veral years,coincident with further recession of silver.
Traders thought that the large $7.90 bearish operations in the silver $14 market on the part of certain Chi- nese speculators were about to ter minate.
One of the sequels in the break in silver was a demand for Japan. ese yen, which rallied further.
