HOSPITAL DREAD.'

SUICIDE OF A FORMER COSHAM PATIENT.

Another tragedy in connection with the Ministry of Pensions mental hospital at Cosham, Hants, was investigated by the Nottingham coroner. The inquest concerned the death of Edwin Hadden, aged fifty- nine, a former gratient at the hos pital, who took a fatal dose of Jiniment.

The widow stated that her hus and bind a great dread of the hospita!.

The coroner asked if he had been rending newspapers, and Mrs. Fadden replied that he actually saw an incident which occurred at the hospital involving the death of a man. He afterwards asked for his discharge.

"The incident preyed on his mind," she said, "and he declared

that he would not be taken back to Cosham alive."

A verdict of "Suicide while of unsound mind." was recorded.
