The indus- try was further affected lately as large quantities of matches have been smuggled into Corton and the country districts. Business, conditions in Wuchow are improving day by day and for more goods are being exported and imported than two weeks ago. The hosiery industry in Canton is growing rapidly, and the number of factories Fae increased during the past few yeare. Numerous or ders are received this year from textile merchants in the Malayan.
