DAILY WATERFRONT NEWS.
WHARF ACCIDENT.
A nasty accident occurred yester- day morning on the Hoi On Wharf on the waterfront. A hefty pole which was used to substitute a damaged davit on board the Tai Ming suddenly fell from the top deck to the wharf and struck A coolie who was carrying some cargo. He received an ugly gash
in his hand and was taken to hos pital in a ricksba in a serious condition. The accident was due to negligence on the part of the in charge of the repair person work, the rope securing the pole having been allowed to come loose.
Sunken Junk Highted. ́ ́.
The master of the Shing Cheong (Portuguese) reports hav ing sighted a sunken junk about two miles North of Cheung Chow Island, A Harbour Office notifica-
tion also states that a sunken junk about three-quarter is reported miles South of Datum Rock, and is considered dangerous to..navigs tion..
