SIXTH ROUND OF THE ENGLISH CUP.

BLACKBURN AND HUDDERSFIELD DRAW.

VILLA AND PORTSMOUTH IN

SEMI-FINAL.

A surprising feature of the sixth round of the Football Asso- ciation Cup matches played at Home on Saturday was the failure of Blackburn Rovers, last senson's heroes, to win when they received the Bolton Wanderers. The game ended at one goal all. Huddersfield were also checked by West Bromwich Albion and a replay is necessary. "The Arsenal and West Ham United were eliminated by Aston Villa and Portsmouth, who are now in the .semi-final.

The result of the Scottish Cup matches was as expected, the" Rangers defeating Dundee United and Kilmarnock accounting for the Raith Rovers.. Celtis and Motherwell could not play their match owing to frost, while the St Mirren . Aberdeen tie had also to be postponed.

Middlesbrough, leaders la Division II. of the English League, were beaten by Blackpool. Chelsez received a surprise on their own ground when they received Oldham. The highest goal score went, to the Division III. Southern Section leaders, Northampton, who netted seven times agains; Newport
