Kiangsu (British) | Menelaus, March 3rd. from Bangkok with 1,700 tons of Achilles, March 5th. general cargo.

FOUR VESSELS AGROUND.

The water in the West River continues to be very low, and re- ports that four vessels are aground have been made by other ships on arriving here. The as. Tai Lee on the Kongmoon service, failed to, ar- rive here yesterday and is reported to have grounded on the Wang- moon Bar on her voyage up to that port. She is also stated to have wireleased for Naval assistance Thee. Sarming is also reported to ba aground.

No Lights. For being underway in the Cea- tral Fairway without the correct. regulation lights, two masters of eargo boats were fined $10 each with the alternative of 10 days' hard labour by Commander G. F. Hole, R.N., at the Harbour Office yesterday morning. One of the de- fendants stated that he had his rear light 8 feet above the deck, but the Magistrate replied that that was not sufficient

Dangerous Goods.

The s. Linan (British) arriving from Shanghai and Amay carried 23 cases of oxygen elyinders. The Tessel anchored at the dangerous goods anchorage off Stonecutter's Island

The ss. Chicago Maru (Japanese) from Nagoya and Moji had a cargo of safety matches amounting to 43

tons.

Asiatic Deck Passengers... Nine vessels brought 1,517 Asiatic deck passengers to the Colony dur ing the 24 hours ended at 9a.m. yesterday

SHIPPING MOVEMENTS.

The Dollar round-the-world liner President Polk is scheduled to leave Shanghai at noon to-day, and is ex- pected to arrive here at 8 a.m. This on Saturday, February 9th. steamer will continue her voyage to New York by way of Manila, Straits, etc., on Sunday, February 10th, at 8 am,

The Doiler liner President Cleve- land is scheduled to leave Manila on Saturday, February 9th at 4 p.m. and will arrive here on Monday, February 11th, at 7 am. She will sail on the following day, February | 1th, at 8 a.m., for San Francisco and Los Angeles, vid Shanghai, Japan and Honolulu.
