The general cargo returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am. wêre vary good. Local imports showed total far above the average, and through freights were very good. British vessels were heavy carriers and best importers. Twenty-one departures were shown of which ten arrivals and Ave departures ware British.

Sixteen" vessels brought 29,152 for tons of general merchandise this part of which 2,521 tons were contributed by eight British ships. The heaviest carriers were two British vessels. The ss.. Cape Cross from Sourabaya had 6,080 tons of sugar, and the s.s. Apoey from Hongay discharged 4.150 tons of coal.

Five masters and mistresses of harbour craft, including the master of a motor lighter owned by the Kwong San Hong, were before Com- mander G. F. Hole, RN. (retired) for making fast to the 4.5. Lungshan, of the Hong Kong Canton and Macao Steamboat Co.. before the wessel had berthed.

Apoey (British) arrived from Hongay with 4,130 tons of coal for. Hong Kong.

Keemun (British) arrived from Birkenhead (Liverpool) and Singa- pore with 2,797 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong and 9,290 tons for through ports.

Munster Castle (British) arrived from New York and Shanghai with 3,995 tons of kerosene and oil and general merchandise for Hong Kong and 600 tons for through ports.

Padha (British) arrived from London and Singapore with 78 toas of explosives.

Kweiyang (British) arrived from Bangkok and Hoihow with 2,200 tons of rice and general merchan- dise for Hong Kong.

Boarding The Kinshan Without Permission,

Chan Wah, a shop foki of No. 7, Lee Yuen Street was also summoned for boarding the s.s. Kinshan, with- out the permission of the master or officer in charge. The defendant failed to appear in Court and his bail of 320 was estreated.
