Through freight amounted to 13,394 tons, and four British ships contributed 1,197 tons The best carriers were both Japanese vessels, The s.3. Kashmir Maru from Yoko hama and Shanghai carried 4474 tons of general cargo; and the 6.5. Ganges Maru from Calcutta and Singapore had 4,901 tous.

Salyang (British) arrived from Canton with 280 tons of general cargo for through ports.
Newchang (British) arrived from Shanghai and Amoy with 130 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong and 170 tons for other ports.
Yat Shing" (British) arrived from Canton with 130 tons of general merchandise for ports beyond the Colony.
Chip Shing (British) arrived from Shanghai and Swatow with 943 tons of general merchandise for Hong Kong and 550 tona for other perts.
Seistan (British) arrived from Singapore and Hoihow with 700 tons of "general merchandise for Hong Kong and 6 cases of tobacco for other ports.
Pong Tong (British) arrived from Saigon with 1,400 tons of rice and general cargo for Hong Kong.
Tonkin (French) arrived from Haiphong with 1,050 tons of general cargo for this port.
Ganges Maru (Japanese) arrived from Calcutta and Singapore with 117 tons of general cargo for Hong Korg and 4,203 tons for other ports
Kashmir Maru (Japanese) BT- rived from Yokohama and Shang- hai with 4,474 tons of silk goods, cotton goods, canned goods and raw silk for other ports.
Sourabaya Maru (Japanese) ar- rived from Sourabaya and Tawao with 944 tons of sugar logs and general cargo for Hong Kong and 2.572 tons for other ports.

Heavy Fines For Boat People. Hok Pak, coxswain of the motor boat Tai Leo was before the Marine Magistrats. Commander G. F. Hole. st the Marine Court yesterday morning for failing to stop when called upon to do so by a police officer. Lance-Sergeant Goldsmith, who prosecuted, stated that the de fendant was called upon to stop in the harbour, and the signal four blast on the whistle had to be repeated before the motor boat obeyed. The defendant pleaded guilty and said that he did mot hear the whistle on account of the noisy engines. He was fined gas with the alternative of three weeks' hard labour.

Kwok So, mistress of a simpan was summoned for carrying nine Fassengers in excess to the number allowed by her license. Sub-Inep, W. le Fuvro Chevalier prosecuted, and the defendant, pleading guilty, was fined $30 or one month's impri- sonment.
