YESTERDAY'S FREIGHT

RETURNS.

IMPORTS. BELOW AVERAGE.

THROUGH CARGO STILL GOOD.

Sixteen arrivals and sixteen de-.) parture were shown during the 24 hours ended at a a.m. yesterday of which seven arrivals and eight de. partures were. British. The general cargo returns were only moderate. Imports showed a heavy decrease from the previous day, but through cargo was fairly good.

British ships were shown as heaviest carg carriers for Hong Kong and ports beyond,

Eight vessels discharged 4700 tons of general merchandise for this port of which 3.035 tons were contributed by four British ships, The 6.5. Yuen Sang (British) arriv ing from Calcutta and Singapore with 1,398 tons of general cargo was best carrier, followed by the 3.8. Takliwa (British) with 738 tons from the same porta.

Cargo for through ports amounted to 11.460 tons of which 3,516 to were contributed by five British ships. The best carriers were the 5. Takliwa (British) from Calcutta and Singapore with 3,3-19 tons of general goods, and the 1.9. Proteus with (Norwegian) from Batavia 2,250 tons.

S.S. Kwong Fook Uhecng Arrives.

The Kongmoon river steamer Kwong Fook Cheong, arrived in port yesterday morning at 1.370 s.m. after having been aground on the | “MOBRA” Wangmoon Bar for 6 hours. The "KALYAN " passengers had already been landed, BAJPUTANA " and the cargo placed on two light- ers sent from Kongmoon. Arrange- ments were made for the vessel to be towed off by H.M.S. Moth which was standing by, but with the rising tide, the vessel refloated without help.

A a result of the delay, the Kwong Fook Cheong was unable to make her umızı trip last night, but will resume service this evening.
