RETURNS.

GENERAL DECREASE IN CARGO TOTALS.

HEAVY CARGO OF SUGAR.

The general cargo returns for the 2 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday were good. Although not so high as the previous day, imports, showed a substantial total, while through cargo was also good. British con- tributions, however, were only fair. Sixteen arrivals and eighteen de- partures were shown of which four arrivals and eleven departures were British.

Twelve vessels discharged 13310 tens of imports of which two British ships contributed 2,601 tons. The heaviest cargo was from the 1.3. Shogen Maru (Japanese) with 3,69 tous of coal from Wakamatsu and Sakite, while the s.s. Hwah Cheng (Chinese) from Saigon discharged 2,500 tons of general merchandise.

Through freights amounted to 20,957 tons of which foar Brisiah ships carried 8,033 tons. The heaviest carrier was the as. Tjibesar (Dutch) from Sourabaya and Tegal with 12,000 tons of sugar. The s.s. Kidderpore was next best carrier with 7,971 tons of general merchan dise from Bombay and Singapore.

5.S. Tatcha Goas To Dock.. With the resumption of the as Lungshan on the Canton run after her overhaul, the sa Fatshen wna taken in hand at the Taikoo Docks yesterday morning for general over- haul. She will resume service as soon as the overhaul has been com pleted.

Heavy Cargo-Of Sugar. «

The 3.5 Tjibesar(Dutch) which arrived here from Sourabaya ad Tegal carried a heavy cargo_of sugar totalling 14,133 tons. The vessel discharged 2,135 tons for this port and carried 19,000 tons, for through ports.

8.8. Paul Beau And Charles Hardouin.

The two river steamers, owned by Mr. Woo Hei Tong, the s.s. Charles Hardouin and as Paul Beau, will, we understand, commenço service to Kongmoon in about mix week's time. The vessels will frst be overhauled.
