Through freights showed a very heavy total of 38,307 tons. One British ship contributed 116 tons. The two best carriers were the 3 Duisburg (German) from Kobe and Shanghai with 9,400 tons, and the 8.3. Panama (Norwegian) from Copenhagen and Singapore.
Yesterday's Figures. The general cargo returns for the period ending at 9 a.m. yesterday were only moderate. Cargo for this port showed a heavy decrease, but through
lower cargo though than the previous day, was well above the average. British, con tributions showed an improvement but were not heavy. Of the eighteen wrilyals and twenty out departures, seven arrival, and four departures were British.
