dise for through ports.

The general cargo returns during the past few days, were, on the whole, good. The figures for Christmas Day were very good, but a heavy decrease "was shown for the period ending at 9 a.m. yesterday. Thirty-two arrivali and twenty-nine departures were shown during the two days.
Returns For Christmas Day, Twenty arrivals and twelve de- portares were shown for the period ending at 9 am. on December 25th, of which eight arrivals and three departures were British. Imports were good, with a heavy total of through cargo.
Sultang (British) arrived from Calcutta and Singapore with 1,384 tons of opium, gunnies and general merchandise for Hong Kong, and 1,356 tons of pig iren and general cargo for Japan.
Hong Hua (British) arrived from Rangoon and Singapore with 500 tons of general merchandise for Hong Kong and 100 tons for through porta
Sinkiang (British) arrived from Shanghai and Canton with 100 tons for through porta
Linen (British) arrived from Shanghai and Amoy with 465 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong and 373 tons for other ports,
Funnan (British) arrived from Canton with 350 tons of general cargo for other ports.
Fifteen vessels discharged, 10,634 tone of merchandise for this port, of which 3,8 tons were contribut ed by six British ships. The best returns were by the s.s. Tai Po Sek (Chinese) with 2,300 tons of general cargo from Saigon, and the: a,s. Mikusan Maru (Japanese) Fromeral cargo for this port. Miike with 2,000 tons of coal.
