ARMY BEATS R.H.K.Y.C.

Yesterday the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club tried conclusions with the Army, but they fared even worse than, the Navy, being beaten by the comfortable margin of 144 points to 130. The Army, have thus put it across both the pro fessionals and the amateurs of the ocean and proved themselves the beat anilors, when it comes to yacht, in the Colony.

The Army Yachts flew a red cross on a white ground and the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club a white cross on a blue ground in the morning and rice rers in the afternoon.

Yachts were drawn for before the morning race and the Yachts sailed in the morning were by the Army sailed by the Club in afternoon. The officers of the day were Mr. H. 8. Rouse (Rear Commodore RH.KY.C.) and Lt. Col. Cardew and the official time keeper, Chief Yeoman of Signals J, Swetland.

Crossing over to King's Park, the Craigengower C.C. lost to the Royal Navy by 119 runs. The Navy were given a good lend by Captain H. D, Weir who carried his bat through- qut the innings for 91 runs. Inst. Lieut. Comdr. Abelson who partner ed Capt. Weir as opening batsmen also made 64 runs. A contribu- tion of 28 runs not out by Lieut. F. C. Norris enabled the side to
