SOUTH CHINA "B". ST. JOSEH'S..

Played at Caroline Hill, this second division match ended in victory for the home team by the only goal scored. South China may be considered fortunate in taking both points, för St. Joseph's had quite as much of the game and should have taken the lend on several oc- casions in the first half. Play, was fast and interesting, the ball travelling rapidly from end to end. both defences being kept busy. D. Leonard missed a great chance for the Saints by shooting wide from. point-blank range, and at the other end Rocha made a wonderful save From Chan Chee Ming.

AT HOME.

Two changes were made in the First Division of the English Lengua programme on Saturday. Everton were at home to New- castle United, and Portsmouth received Manchester United, home teams winning in each case. Sheffield Wednesday, the leaders, de feated Aiton Villa by a 4-1 margin. Derby County and Blackburn Rovers won their matches and retain the same order as last week. Leeds United, "who are in the fourth position, were badly beaten by Birmingham, but they still remain there. Leicester City go one place lower on goal: average as they lost to Bolton by Ave clear goals, and they have the same number of pointa as Sunderland, who shared the points with Sheffield United in a game which pro- duced eight goals. Home teams won nine matches.

Notts County, leaders in the Second Division, shared the points with Chelsea: Hull City lost to Netts Forest and drop to fourth place. Middlesbrough's success over Grimsby bring them close to the leaders.

In the Southern section, of the Third Division, Queen's Park- Rangers drop from second to ifth, place, while Northampton, Coventry and Luton all won their matches and move up in their respective order. Plymouth still retain the lead although they lost the matth.

Stockport at last realised their ambition in reaching the top of the Northern section, Wrexham being dethroned for the second time. Southport moved a few places from the bottom by defeat- ing Carlisle 4+3. ̈ ̈

The Scottish Rangers received. a surprise at home from St. Mirren who shared the points with the unbeaten leaders. Is was only the second time since the season started that another tenm has been able to gain a point from them. Queen's Park defeated Aberdeen by six goals to 2. Hearts lost to Hamilton by an odd goal.
