VERY GOOD.

Although the general cargo re turns were not as high as the previous day's figures, the totals for the imports and through freights remained above the average. British imports were good, but fair. through cargo was only Seventeen arrivals and thirteen de partures were showp of which seven Arrivals and three departures were British ships.

General merchandise discharged from fourteen vessels amounted to 10,047 tons of which 4,519 tons were contributed by five British vessels. The two best returns were shown by the sts. Nhocen Maru (Japanese) with 3,350 tons of coal and coke from Wakamatsu and Sakito; and the & Zinhow (British) with 2,000 tons of general cargo from Swatow.

Through freights amounted to 15,831 tons, of which 1.488 tons wete. carried by two British ships. The m.s. Nanking (Swedish) was shown as best carrier with 4,937 tons of general merchandise from Gothem burg and Dainy, The 9-3, President Cleveland (U.S.A.) was second best with 4,257 tons from San Francisco and Shanghai. »

DETAILS OF FREIGHTS.

Kitawa (British) arrived from Wellington and Samarinda (Bor- nco) with 1,497 tons of coal for Hong Kong.

Chinking (British) arrived from Shanghai with tons of general. cargo for Hong Kong and 1,163 tony for through ports.

Ninghai (British) arrived from Shanghai and Amoy with 300 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong and 300 tona for other ports.

Seang Bee (British) arrived frora Rangoon and Amicy with 380 tors of general cargo for Hong Kong.

Tinhow (British) arrived from Swatow with 2,000, tons of coal for this port

President Cleveland (American) arrived hom San Francisco and Shanghai with 1,335 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong and 4,237 tons for through ports.

Svale (Norwegian) arrived from Singapore and Hoitow with 200 tona of general cargo for Hong Kong.

Hubro (Norwegian) arrived from Samarindo (Borneo) with 180 tons of general cargo for Hong Kong. and 1,905 tons for through ports.

Havdrat (Norwegian) arrived from Sandakan and Amoy with 100 tons of general cargo for Heng Kong.

Nanking (Swedish) arrived from Gothemburg and Dalby with 8,384 teas of soya beans and general cargo for through ports.
