The Small Units secured their first win in the Leagat against South China on the Caroline Hill ground McAusland opened the Small Units account. "Lavender also scored for the Units, who were leading by two clear goals at the interval.
South China opened strongly in the second half and "Tui Yük On reduced the Jead against them. South China' tried hard to level up but another goal by Lavender made the game fairly safe, for the Units. However, Tai Yuk On scored again for South China and just on time, Hogg scored for the Units, who won by four goals to two.

Batting fret the Navy declared for 148 runs for 9 wickets; the Chinese team replying with 119 runs for 7 wickets. The Navy commenced well with Capt: Weir (31). Ing. Lieut. Comdr. Abelson (29) and Mr. Giles (29), and the side declared at 148 rugs. W. C. Hung took a wickets for 43.

Gahagan, who batted first for the Electric, made the very fine score of 96 runs; followed by Murdock with 38 runs. Chittenden had the best bowling average with 2 wickets for 24 guns E. Harper, for the C.S.C.O., gave his side a good start with 44 runs but the next five batsmen were dis missed cheaply by Banks. who finished the game with an average of 4 wickets for 56 runs Way also took four wickets for 38 runs.

Speaking on behalf of the Club, Mr. G. Henderson said that the Club's performances "this season were disappointing as they had to bevontent with second place in the League after their unique record the previous season, when they

The Singles Championship, which the Club held for three years also went elsewhere, and in the Spey Cup competition they were out of it.
However, he felt he must con
gratulate Craigengower on winning the senior championship, and the Club de Recreio on their doings in the second division. It was an ex cellent achievement for a team only two years old in lawn bowls. He thought that some of the older Clubs were boming a little lethar- gio.
Mr. B. Wylie, President of the Lawn Bowls Association, replied on behalf of the visitors, and at the close of his remarks called for cheers for the hosts, which, were heartily given..

League football matches on Saturday in the English League were confined to the First and Second Divisions owing to Third Division teams being engaged in the first round of the Football Association Cup contests. All the matches arranged for the day: were completed.
Sheffield Wednesday establish themselves at the top of the First Division by virtue of their victory at home over Liverpool and the downfall of Derby County after holding the lead for three weeks. Notts County, leaders in the Second Division, also bad a reverse, but are still at the top, although closely followed by Hull City:
