RETURNS.

LOCAL IMPORTS & THROUGH FREIGHTS VERY GOOD,

19 ARRIVALS, 26 DEPARTURES.

With nineteen arrivals and twenty-six departures during the 21 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday the general cargo. returns for Hoag Kong and ports beyond were very good Four British arrivals and ten departures were shown, but the contributions to the cargo returns were low. Japanese vessels were noticeably heavy carriera for both Hong Kong and through poris.

Fourtean vessels discharged gen- eral merchandise for this port amounting to 21,010 tons. The s.5. Tiberar (Dutch) was best carrier with 8,300 tons of sugar and general cargo, followed by the s.s. Crenn Luba (British) with 7,200 tons of oil fuel from Miri (Borneo)

Through cargo totalled 21,280 toes, of which only 250 tons were contributed by British vessels. The 8.5. Rangoon Maru (Japanese) at riving from Calcutta and Singa. pore was shown as best carrier with 5,701 tons of general cargo. The 3.5. Tjibesar was next with 4,940

tons.

The as. Tejo, a Chinese river vessel operated by the Kwong 'Au 9.S. Co., Ltd., of No. 278, Des Voeux Road Central is reported to have sunk in the West River. The vessel is commanded by a Chinese master.

The s.8. Tejo was built in 1900 by Messrs. Murdock & Murray, of Port Glasgow, under the name of 5.3. Amazonense for river work in Brazil The awners at that time were. Messrs. Nicolans & Co., of Parn. The vessel is 393 tons nett, with a gross tonnage of 52. Her dimensions are Length 135 feet, Beam 29 feet, and depth 9.2 feet Her engines develop 37 N.H.P.

The as. Tejo very seldom calls at Hong Kong, being on the Canton Siu Hung run. Her visits to the Colony are for overhaul and re pairs and she was last here on September 6th this year.

The s. Crenatula which arrived yesterday with a heavy cargo of oil fuel from Miri (Borneo) for this port was formerly known as the War Pindari The vessel is now owned by the Anglo-Colonial Petroleum Company, and the vessel is under the charter of the Asiatic Petroleum Company. The s.a. War Pindari was built in 1910 by Messrs. Lithgows, Ltd., of Port Glasgow for the Admiralty.

IA a notification to Mariners posted at the Harbour Office from the Harbour Authorities at Manila it is stated that a complete set of charts and Sailing Directions of the Philippine Islands and vicinity with other matter of interest to navigators is kept on file in the Coast and Geodetic Survey Office at the lntendencia Buildings. All ship's masters are invited to avail themselves of the information.
