Only three Vessels carried through freights ahouating. to 7,930 tons, of which 4,095 tops were on board the s.1. Bencorlich, the only British carrier. This vessel arrived from London and Manila The A.3. President McKinley (American) bad 3,013 tons of general cargo.

(retired)" writes to a London paper, "I noticed re- cently that it was stated that at the International Conference of Sea. men the adoption of the Right "KAKMALA". and Left system. for helm orders was unanimously recommended. I "NALDERA" find it interesting to recall my own "KASHMIR experience while serving as first" MANTUA" lieutenant in H.M.S. Juno during("KHYBER the manoeuvres of 1912. The cap "MOREA" tain was a very keen advocate of the Right and Left system, and obtained the permission to give it ʼn careful trial in H.MS, Jung for the period of the manœuvres, some three or four weeks.
