**TAI LEE" ON A TRIAL

RUN.

REFITTED AT KOWLOON DOCKS.

SATISFACTORY TESTS.

The s.a. Tei Lee, which is on the Hong Koog-Kongmoon run, recent- ly went into Kowloon Docks for refitting, and was cut on her trials on Saturday. Work on the vessel had been expeditiously carried out, and the vessel left the Docks sooner than expected.

About 400 guests were on board the vessel when she steamed away from the Ping On Wharf at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning and carried out trial runs beyond the three-mile limit, gaining an average speed of 13.5 kuote Among Dock- yard officials on board were Mr. Meintosh, of the drawing stuff, and 37. Goodman, in charge of engines and boilerS Capt. Groundwater was also on the vessel in connection with the trials.

It is understood that the speed attained and the general behaviour of the vessel during her trials were very satisfactory,
