THROUGH CARGO VERY HEAVY,

The general cargo returns for the 24 hours ended at 9 am. yesterday | showed local imports up to average, Through freights were very good but British contributions were poor. Twenty-one arrivals and twenty- two departures were shown of which three arrivals and six depar rures were British vessels. Fifteen vessels had 9,950 tons of cargo for this port of which three British ships contributed 2.410 tons. The best returns were shown by two The s.5. Tipanas Dutch vessels from Sourabaya and Manila dis charged 4,300 tons of general cargo, while

Tipsarren from the 3.9. Sourazaya and Pendan discharged

1.525 tons.

Eleven vessels carried heavy total through cargo of 34,529 tons, but only "one British vessel, the ss. Chip Sing from Canton, contributed 30 tons of general cargo. The s. Andes Maru was lest cargo carrier with 7,318 tons of general cargo from Antwerp and Dr. Pierce Singapore The 6.5.

Asiatic Dock Passengers. Eight vessels brought 2,234 Asiatic deck passengers to the Colony dur ing the 24 hours ended at 9 a.m. yesterday..

"Charles Hardouin" Goes To Dock,

The 3.5. Charles Hardouin has been taken in hand at the Taikoo Docks for general overhaul and reft preparatory to being again placed on the Kongmoon ruh.

Arrival Of Steamers The s.S. Benreuck from Home, Straits and Philippine ports is due here.this morning. The P.&O. 3.5. Jepore from Singapore will arrive at 6 p.m. on Monday next, while, the s.s. More from Shanghai is due here at 6 a.sh. to-morrow (Friday).
