Local imports and through freights for the 24 hours ended at a.m. yeaterday showed a big increase over the week-end returns which were below the average. Through freights were exceptionally good. Eighteen arrivals and ten depaitures were shown of which three arrivals and four departures were British.

A CONSISTENT CARGO CARRIER.

Thess. Lyeemoon (British) owned by the Wo Fat Sing Company has, since it has been on the regular rua between, Hong Kong and Saigon, proved a consistently good cargo carrier. At each arrival in port she has been shown as the best cargo. carrier for the day. Yesterday the vessel had 2,406 tons of rice fröm Saigon.

The master reports the death of a child at sea from natural causes.

Asiatic Deck Passengers. Seven vessels brought 2,178 Asiatic. deck passengers to the Colony dùr- ing the period ended at 9 n.. yesterday.
