A decrease on the previous day's excellent figures was shown in the imports and through freights for the period ending at 9am. yester- day, "Local imports, however, were good, while through ferights were above the average. British cargoes showed up well and out of seven- teen arrivals and eighteen depar tures, seven arrivals and seven departures were British ships.

*City Liner Makes First Visit.

Thess. City of Lincoin was listed among the arrivals for the period ending ac D a.m. yesterday. This is her first visit to the pert, and she arrived from New York and Manila with general cargo. She is owned by the Ellerman & Hall Line, of Liverpool, and the Bank Line are the local agents. She was built in 1911 by Messrs. Palmers Co." Ltd... who are also responsible for her engines which develop 581 N. H,P. Hr gross tonnage is 3,881 and nett tonnage 3,784 tons. S.S. Chenan" Goes To Dock. The

Chenan which arrived from Shanghai with a damaged starboard side is now at the Taikod Docks undergoing repairs. It was stated that the vessel collided with the s.s. Kuung Lee after leaving her wharf at Shanghai.

For being underway without showing the proper regulation lights a Chinese mistress of a fishing bont was fined $5 with the hard alternative of Ave days' labour. The defendant" pleaded guilty to the charge.

Asiatic Deck Passengers. -Eight vessels brought 1,994 the Asiatic deck passengers to Colony during the period ending at

Wharf Thieves At Canton And" Boss Kong.

Reports have been received, from various river vessels to the effect that sneak thieves have been activu aboard the vessels at their berths in both Canton and Hong Kong. The officer's cabins have been enter- ed and small but valuable articles. have been reported missing.
