LAWN BOWLS LEAGUE:
CRAIGENGOWER BEATEN IN LAST MATCH.
RECREIO DEFEAT CIVIL SERVICE.
SATURDAY'S MATCHES.
That lawn bowls has its uncertainties just as much as any other game was seen on Saturday when Craigengower's ambition to go through the senior division undefeated was checked by Kow- Icon CC in a game_which provided a thrilling falsh in favour of the home team by a single shot. It was the last match in the champions' programme. The unique record put up by the Kowloon Docks Recreation Club last season of winning every "match is now likely to hold good for many seasons to come.
"
Two of the Craigengewer rinks did none too well at one stage,', but they both recovered and were up at the end. Bradbury's rink proved to be the failure and Gibson took every advantage of the ... · shortcomings by laying back woods which brought him many points. In the last end Craigengower were left to make two shots to tie the combined score, but they gained only one and lost by the par- rowest possible margin..
The closing matches, in the senior division brought victories for Taikoo at home against Civil Service and for the Bowling Green who had the "Police as their visitors.
"
In the second division the Recreio. "A" team came up to expectations and defeated Civil Service at Happy Valley. They won..on alt rinks, gaining the larger number of shots on a rink composed of senior division players. Ribeiro, the Recreio skip, turned the tables this time on Taylor who held the distinction of having lost only once this season. In the fourteenth head Ribeiro annexed five which enabled him to break away from what had been up to that time a close run.
Taikon's victory over Craigengower places them also in the running for the junior championship as will be seen from the League table. The position as it is at present is all the more interesting as both Civil Service and Recreio "A" are still due to play. at Taikoo.
The Bowling Green defeated the Club de Recreio "B" by East Point lost to the a large margin gained on two rinks
Kowloon CC., but they seem to be gradually improving with each succeeding game. RESULTS AT A GLANCE.

FINE TEAM RACE AND WATER POLO MATCH:
The second V.R.C. night fee held on Saturday, was a bigger success than the first, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The management de- serve a great deal of credit for the success of the evening, which was, to a large measure, due to the untiring efforts of Mr. C. J. Cooke, the Hon. Secretary.
