YESTERDAY'S FREIGHT
RETURNS.
CARGO TOTALS GOOD,
Although only twelve arrivals and fourteen departures shown for the 24 hours ended at 9 A.. yesterday the general cargo returns for both Hong Kong and through ports were good. British shipping returns showed six ar | rivala and eight departures.
Nine vessels discharged 18,143 tons of general cargo for this port of which 7,368 tons were contribut- ed-by-ve-British ships. The best returns were shown by the Daishu Maru with 5,100 tons of limestone from Kwong Yuen. The Baron Haig (British) Was shown as second best carrier with 2,942 tons of general cargo from Sourabaya.
Only six vessels carried through freights which amounted to 16,641 toas. Four British vessels con- tributed 4,398 tons, but the best returns were shown by the only two foreign vessels. The s.s. Límä Maru from Birkenhead and Singa- pore carried 8,461 tons, and the 1.5. Delagos Maru had 6,891 tons from Yokohama and Shangbai.
