GOOD BRITISH CARRIERS.

The general cargo returns for the period ending at 9am yesterday were good and British vessels were included amongst the best cargo carriers. There were seventeen are rivals and nine departures of which seven arrivals and thres de- partures

British were

ships. Fifteen vessels discharged 18,724 tons of general cargo for this port and six British ships had 8,368

tona. The two best returns were shown by the Commandant Henri Riviere (French) from Sai gon with 6,910 tons and the Teen Sang (British) with 3,277 tons from Sourabaya and Propo- lingo.

Chan Yau, steeraman of a cargo junk appeared before Commander J. B. Newill, D.S.O., R.N., at the Marine Court for mooring his boat outside five others' alongside the s Michael Febson in the Southern Fairway thereby causing obstruc- tion to other vessels in the-Harbour, P. C. James Hill prosecuted and the defendant pleaded not guilty.

P. C. Hill said that whilst on patrol in the Southern Fairway he

Two Deaths On "Bolviken." The master of the s.s Solviken which arrived here yesterday from Singapore and Hoihow reports that two Chinese male passengers, died during the voyage from Singapore to Hoihow..
