The general cargoes for this port showed an increase for the period ending 9 a.m. yesterday, but through freights were only fair. There were fifteen arrivals and nineteen departures of which three arrivola and five departures were British ships. Only one British ship carried through cargo.
Eleven vessel discharged 8,796 tons of general merchandise for this port of which three British ships and 3,235 tons. The best two re- turns were shown by the s.s. Sura Jars 2039 tons from Middles- borough and Singapore and the s.8. Tai Fook Shing (Chinese) from Sai- gon with 2,000 tons of rice and general cargo.
Four vessels. carried through freights amounting to 11,073 tons of which 810 tons were carried by one British ship. The s... Suva Maru was again shown as best carrier with 8,025 tons, followed by the ss. Himalaya Meru from Otaru and Moji 3,442 tons.

The .. Wing On (Capt. Mutton) has completed her general overhaul. and will be docked at her usual wharf either to-night or Tuesday She will leave Hong morning. Kong on Tuesday night for her usual run to Kangmoon. It is un- derstood that the .s. Sanning has also been taken off the run and docked for overhaul.
Now Coat Of Paint For An Jou.” The s.3. n Jou of the same Com- pany as the Tai Lee and On Lee has recently received a new coat a pains, similar to other vessels of the same house, being white kul! and yellow funnel. This vessel was formerly painted grey. The La. dn Jou is employed on the Wuchow and Kongmoon runs, with Hong Kong La home port.
Collision And Stranding Eeported. The master gf the s... City of Tokio (British) from Dairen and Shanghai reports a collision. and atranding of which news has al ready appeared in Reuter cable. On her arrival here it was under- stood that the vessel was to go into dock for bottom survey, but this was not considered necessary and she moored in mid-stream.
The master also reports the death of a Chinese deck passenger from tuberculosis during the voyage.
Chronic Anaemia. The... Seitan (British) from Singapore reports the death of a fehiale deck passenger from chronic anaemia. The vessel brought 798 deck passengers from Singapore.
Six Deaths And Two Births. The master of the s. dahu? (British) Captain H. H. Penne- father, arriving from Singapore and Amoy has reported a number of births and deaths during "the voyage.-
