It is by no means, however, a rude or unpretentions hunting cabin, but a spacious dwelling containing many wide living rooms and a dozen bedrooms, the whole furnished with that kind of simplicity which only a millionaire like its owner, Mr. Henry Clay Pierce, can afford. It is connected with the mainland by a rustic bridge. Around the lodge there are Bower-beds and small stretches of lawn and many trees, trim and ordered for all the wilder- ness about.
