HEAVY CARGOES FOR HONG KONG AND THROUGH PORTS.

The general cargo returns for the 24 hours caded at 9 am, yesterday showed a heavy increase over the previous day's figures which were low: Local imports were well above the average with a very high total for through cargo.

Through freights were exceeding ly high and amounted to 10,039 tons. Seven British ships carried 8.776 tons, while the two best car- riers were a Japanese and a Danish ressel. The 8.3. Lyons Mars from Glasgow and Singapore carried 8.124 tons, and the Peru (Danish) had 8,069 ton from Datny.

Priestman & Co., of Sunderland and was formerly known as the is. Barbara Marie. Her present owners are the Sea Steamship Co., Ltd., and Messrs. Brown & Atkinson & Co., are the Managers. She is registered at Newcastle as a British vessel. Her commander is Captain T. D. Sam- bidge and she has a British crew of 18, and an Asiatic crew of 10,
