KWANTI EASTER MEETING.
EASTER DAY WINS FANLING GRAND NATIONAL.
SCOTS GUARDS DAY OUT.
[BY RAPIER]
The enthusiasts who gathered at Kwanti on Saturday afternoon were rewarded by witnessing some excellent sport. The going was a bit greasy but strange to say there were no spills. San Diego did not turn out in the Fanling Grand National and Easter Day accordingly' started favourite. In any case was a name like that at an Easter Meeting it would be sure to be well backed. Erskine. rode 'the winner and Usher had three wins so that four out of the Ave races went to the 2nd Batt, of the Scots. Guards. Messrs. Mackie and Sutton acted as Judges and Lieut. Col. Hall Brutton officiated as Starter while Dr. Pierce Grove was, as usual, at the helm. Everything went very smoothly thanks to the excellent work of the officials. It way rather a sporting effort of Mr. Fischer to bring down his popy Solitaire from Canton as he had no idéa what the course was like. He is apparently one of a band of keen riders at Tung Shan and we hope to have the pleasure of seeing more of them.
