The entire company started very sprightly from the rise of the eurtain, and throughout the play John Hagan and Frank Atkinson delighted the audience. These two players are comedians par 'ex cellence.

"Who's Robinson," in which John Hagan, Frank Atkinson and Lew Marks featured, was the oat standing sketch of the evening. As inebriated gentlemen, the trio were simply perfect.

John and Victor Hagan were loudly applauded when they ang Some Song, the humour intro duced into it provoking aproarious laughter,

The allegation was that Power necosted Miss Turner and a young man, Broomhead, who was in her bupant on the banks of the catal about eleven o'clock on a night last July and, knocking the young nuta down, carried off Miss Turner.

Sir Reginald Coventry, K.C., for Power, said that Power at the trial called evidence to show that he was in a public-house more than a mile Erom the canal at 10 o'clock "au the fateful night.

Mr. Norman Birkett, K.C. for the Crown, was asked by Lord Hewart whether Power's wife was called to give evidence to support her husband's alibi at the trial.

Ole Birkett replied that the story was that she was all that No- night and had gone to bed. body in the house was called to support the alibi.

At this point, Power, who occupi- ed a seat in the-dock, jumped up and. leaning forward, cried: N; becauer I was telling the truth. Nobody saw ane go to the canal bank that evening.
