Fought At Ypres. Harwy is a native of Cardiff. He ralisted at 1017 at the age of eventeen in the 1st South Wales Bonderers, falsifying his age order to be accepted. He was in all the heavy fighting during the last eighteen months of the war, and had his skull cracked by u sheid splinter at Ypres.

Civilian life was too dul, and Harvey in March 1923 went to Dunkirk, where he joined the Foreign Legion for the usual six wars' enlistment Ho was trained
