Yesterday's Statement. Yesterday's statement showed a considerable increase in the number of arrivals for the 24 hours ended at 0am. They were, in fact, doubled. Freight for Hong Kong totalled 10,480 tons, with 8,002 tons of this brought in seven British steamers, the best entries being 5,000 tons of coal, and 1,600 tons of general. Although twelve vessels under other flags discharged cargo here, it oals came to 4.457 tons, and of this total there were only two four figure entries, ona.of 1,400 tons of rice on a Japanese ship, and another of 1,000 tons of rice on a Chinese vessel.
Through cargoes totalled 23,558 tons. Eight British ships carried 5,234 tons between them, three steamers recording four-figure en- tries. Of the 20,322 tons on other vessels, an American steamer car- ried 4,847 tons, an Italian 3,642 tons, a Norwegian 1,773 tons of coal, a Japanese 1,585 tons of general, another Japanese strip 3,407 tons and a third vessel of the same dag 2,131 tous.
