A story reached the Colony on Saturday morning, of an attack in Chinese water on a Hong Kong junk by what appeared to be a pirate junk. YESTERDAY'S RETURN. Yesterday morning's return show ed that during the preceding twenty-four hours 22,599 tons of cargo had arrived for Hong Kong, Three British vessels contributed 6,990 tons, with 8,420 tons of this one ship. Vessels of other nationalities brought 16,009 tons, with 2,758 tons between two Ameri- can ships. 1,087 tons in a Dutch bottom, 2,000 tons in a Norwegian freighter, and 2,500 tons of coal in a Norwegian ship. Japanese and Chinese vessels brought the remain- der of the Fraight,
Freight not for Hongkong totalled 33,135 tons, with 10:350 teus between two British steamers, one ship having 10,000 tons of kerosene, Freight in other tessels totalled 22.855 tons, and of this 3,845 tons and 3,000 tons were in American vrasels, 5,000 tons in a German ship, 5,937 tons in a Dutch steamer, 1,500 tone in a Norwegian, and the remainder in Japanese" vessels.
