Shanghai papers now to hand give fuller*details of the rout of Sun Chuan Fang's Army which is supposdil to be concentrated at Chuchow, but according to the latest news is still retreating. Marshal Chang Tao Lin repeatedly urged caution but Sun thought he know better. He relied on certain Southern leaders joining him, but they held aloof. Another report of his attempted suicide. has been circulated, but no doubt this tough gld fighter will crop up again.
Prisoners enptured from his army are described as half starve ed, ill-equipped and glad to be in the hands of their captors. All prisoners of war are so described.
