"Lloyd's Register. Shipbuilding Returna for the quarter ended June 30th show that the tonnage under construction in Great Britain and Ireland-1,300,358 "tqna-was 173,458 tons more than at the end of March, 1097, and about 849,000 tons more than the tonnage building 12 months ngo. The tonnage on which work was suspended at the end of June, 1927, amounts only, to 8.743 tous, as compared with 77,600 tons at the end of June, 1920.

The present totals, although the highest since September, 1024, are still 300,000 tons below the average tonnage building during the 19 months immediately preceding the war, "i., 1,800,000 tons.
